Bridge saddles, springs and screws

<< Previous   Table of Contents    Next >>

The pressed-steel bridge saddles are stamped "Fender" "Pat. Pend." The original nickel plating has faded. The six saddle intonation adjustment screws are 5/8" 4-40-thread round-head Phillips machine screws. The 12 saddle height adjustment screws are 5/16" and 3/8" 4-40-thread set screws that require a .050" hex wrench. The adjustment screws for the outer E string saddles are slightly shorter than the inner ones so that they do not protrude and cut into the player's hand. Three of the height adjustment screws were replaced because the hex head was too stripped to turn with the hex wrench. The spring for the lower E string is shorter than the others to permit accurate intonation.
