Headstock finish repair

The smaller red circles indicate the filled screw holes and finish repair to damage caused by installation of a Rockinger locking tremolo nut in the early 1980s. At least it wasn't a Kahler tremolo, which would have required extensive routing of both the neck and the body instead of two tiny screw holes. The damage visible in the larger red circle is probably due to shifting of the wood plug in the end of the truss rod channel due to humidity changes. It was necessary to manipulate the contrast in the photo to reveal this repair. It is virtually invisible under normal viewing conditions. The need for replacement of the original nut is confirmed by the visible grooves in the B and E string areas of the neck wood behind the replacement nut.
