Another one of the nail holes created during the original finishing process is visible underneath the white overspray inside the blue circle. Some of the original two-tone sunburst finish is still visible in the pocket. In the late 1970s the neck pocket was planed in order to provide a proper "neck set" without using a shim. This ill-advised repair unfortunately obliterated any markings in the neck pocket. Also unfortunate is the fact that the repair did not accomplish the objective and a shim is still necessary to achieve the proper neck set.
