Kurt Cobain's Mosrite Gospel Guitar Sold for $100,000 in Icons Auction

Dallas, TX - April 17, 2004. Kurt Cobain's Mark IV-style Mosrite Gospel guitar sold for $100,000 USD not including the buyer's premium, at the Icons of 20th Century Music auction held in Dallas, Texas, in conjunction with the 27th Annual Dallas Guitar Show. According to the auctioneer, it was purchased by Cobain in 1990 and often used in his performances with the group, Nirvana.

16319: Nikki Sixx's (Motley Crue) 1981 BC Rich: 46/$10,000

16324: Motown Bassist James Jamerson's German Upright Bass: 1/$197,500

16337: Gram Parsons Custom-Built David Russel Young Dreadnaught Acoustic: 1/$177,500

16339: 1985 Paul Reed Smith Standard Prototype: 1/$19,500
