Your Favorite Jimi Hendrix Solos & Why, Live, Studio, Does not matter Options

Let's see what some of your favorite solos are of Jimi Hendrix, from either a guitar player, listener point of view or both. Here are just a few of mine. These are just too get the topic started, will be edited later and so on:P

The Wind Cries Mary (Studio Recorded Version) The use of the F major pentatonic scale never sound so cool. I like the how the double stops were used in this, and the extra gain he used in this solo to really make it pop. Of course there is the totaly cool lick from the D minor pentatonic scale that is a classic as well.

Little Wing (Winterland Version) This is a very cool, and rare version of this song done live. The effects used made it really sound good, (uni-vibe, maybe it could have been another chorus effect, possibly Jax-Vibra chorus, and wah) Jimi really added to the solo, by ending the solo with a very familar bends and slide licks as also heard from the version at the Royal Albert Hall.

Hey Strato Strut, my fave of all time is still his recorded version of Dylan's "All Along The Watchtower" the wah-wah with the space echo still gives me chills! And I always loved his intro to that song as well, short but super cool....Bluestrat

Hey bluestrat, thanks for the reply I agree with you on that! That solo is awesome, the wah-wah is masterfully done. I like the whole, the "slide" the wah-wah, really the first time i have ever heard the 2 in any song before. thanks for participating in this thread bluestrat
